Day 225 - Bernita Brewer

"Let me get this straight...When the Twins play the Brewers, then I root for the Twins. When the Twins play anyone other than the Brewers, then I root for the Twins, but when the Brewers play the Braves, then I root for the Braves, but so long as the Brewers play anyone else, then i can root for them? Man this baseball stuff is confusing."

Paige had her first Miller Park experience. Can't wait to take her to Target Field to watch the twins play baseball outdoors!

Oh, and Paige, ignore your Uncle Bryan and his silly Atlanta Braves. Nobody cares about them anyway. Just remember to root for the Twins first, Brewers second, and you'll be fine!

If you pay close attention you can see Grandma Denise in the background. I think this might actually be the first official PJ 365 sighting, as she isbehind the camera instead of in front of it most of the time (and Grandpa Roger doesn't like to share).

Day 224 - Ole!

"Uhm, If you could just grab that ball up by your left hand, I don't seem to have quite enough toys to play with yet."

Paige was sporting the dress that Grandma Denise bought for her in Mexico. A nice change up from all of the pink. Some times you get a little over-pinked with a little girl.

Day 223 - Lily Flowers and One Happy Baby.

"So do they have this grass stuff in Wisconsin, Dad?

I took a few photos of Paige before they jumped in the car and headed to Wisconsin. As you can see in the background, Valerie's lily by the mailbox is in full bloom. It was actually split off from the original plant which is on the side of our house. It is multiplying like a weed.

Day 222 - Eye Update

"Why you gotta rub my eye like that with a washcloth? It hurts."

Paige's eye seemed to be getting worse, and looks pretty bad in this photograph if you look at the large size. Strangely enough, when she came home from Wisconsin, it looked a whole lot better. Maybe her tear duct had enough and kicked out whatever was inside blocking it? Not sure if that is possible or if that is how it works, but we can all hope.

Day 221 - Independence

"See, I told you I could do it all by myself Daddy."

Well, she is insisting on holding her own bottle for the most part. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it generally works a lot better if the bottle is held in the other direction...

Day 220 - Window Light

"I'll just rest my eyes for a bit."

Another one of those times where she works herself up so much that she just falls asleep. At least she is falling asleep in Valerie's arms more now, which is something that Valerie had wanted to have happen for a long time. Note the monkey pajamas. I doubt this will be the last time they appear here (although she might outgrow them with how quickly that seems to happen).

Day 219 - We're Gonna Win Twins, We're Gonna Score

"Go Twins!"

Paige had went to her first Twins game. Granted, they lost, but she still had a very good time up until the top of the 9th inning. It got very loud in the Dome, and an already sleepy Paige was not exactly excited about all of the noise. Unfortunately the Bull Pen threw the game away, but what can you do?

Day 218 - Sleep, Sleep-aroo.

"I'll just lay here for a bit Mommy, then I'll go to bed."

Yep, falling asleep in your Mother's arms is everything it is cracked up to be.

Day 217 - NEFs and White Balance

"Swimming is so much fun, we should do this every week!"

Swimming lesson #2. Obviously the "lesson" part of that statement is rather loosely associated with the definition. It is amazing how much being able to control white balance in a RAW file can save your photo. Perhaps equally amazing is how off "Auto" White Balance can be. This photograph was so orange that even the water looked like it was orange.

Day 216 - What goes up, must come down.

"I'm pretty sure if I grab onto this thing that I can pull myself u......"

Paige is not content with sitting or laying any longer. She is starting to be all about standing and pulling herself up. Unfortunately pulling oneself up via a flexible, albeit jungle-themed, arch results in little more than what is pictured above. With that said, most things that she grabs do not collapse and fall over. Baby gates, outlet covers and cabinet door locks here we come!

Day 215 - Early to Bed, Early to Rise

"But, I don't wanna go to bed!"

Paige is having some trouble with bed time these days. She just doesn't want to fall asleep. That has always been pretty common, but now she is starting to flip herself over, cry at the top of her lungs, and move about. Hopefully this will be short-lived (only about 13-14 years I am sure...)

Day 214 - Clip those nails

"Let me try mommy."

Clipping her little fingernails is quite the nerve-wracking experience. Good thing Mom does it! They sure grow fast. I swear they have to be clipped at least once if not twice a week. We've found that the "baby" fingernail clippers do nothing but make the process more difficult. Just a regular old fingernail clipper works best.

Day 213 - Lazy Sunday Afternoons

"Ahh, this is the life, relaxing in my very own pool. Just need a bottle with a little umbrella in it."

It was a warm one, had to blow up the giant frog pool so Paige could enjoy some swimming time. She really enjoys being in the water, so that is a huge plus. Many thanks to Mor Mor Teri for the nice big frog pool. I am sure this will not be the last photograph taking while she is in there.

Day 212 -Bike Adventure

"Are we almost finished? I'm getting pretty bored."

Uncle Bryan and Mandy came up to visit for the weekend. We went on a long bike ride up to St. Anthony Main to have a nice lunch, and then headed back down the Mississippi home on the St. Paul side. It was a really good time, but when it was all said and done, Paige spent an awful lot of time in the Chariot. She didn't mind until about 4 miles to go, and then she was getting pretty tired of it all.

Day 211 - Back at the Helm

"Daddy, you're home!"

Back home from Denver. Paige seemed very excited to see me. Of course, she was dressed to impress (well except for the spit up sweet potatoes, but what can you do?)

Day 210 - Water Babies

"Watch out Michael Phelps, here I come."

Paige had her first Water Babies class at Como Elementary School. It is 30 minutes long, and they take the Parents and babies through a routine where they move them around the pool on their stomachs, then on their backs, sit on the side and play with toys, and of course get all wet and have fun.

Day 209 - Crackers In My Bed

"About time you started feeding me food that wasn't sent through a blender. Well, I suppose the flower that goes into crackers is sent through a mill, and that is sort of the same thing as a blender...well you get my point."

Paige has started to eat crackers. She really likes the whole wheat saltines. They aren't very easy to find, but if we can avoid her falling in love with white bread, it will be worth the effort.

Day 208 - Baby's First Myspace Photo

"Cheeese <3"

See any family resemblance?

Day 207 - Dairy Queen? For Babies?

"Oh, Can I have some?"

Paige's Grandma Alice came up to visit for the week while I was in Denver. She also really wants Paige to eat ice cream, which we have had to tell her no several times about. So of course, when I was out of town Grandma Alice and Great Aunt Carole (and Valerie) thought it would be funny to take a picture that looked liked they were giving her Ice Cream...Not funny!

Day 206 - Bon Voyage

"Bye bye daddy, have a fun trip."

This was taking at the Airport to fly to Denver for the week. I had a great time out in Denver, learned a lot, and was able to see a few friends that I hadn't seen in a long time.

Day 205 - The Stick and Roll

"I'll just sleep here for a bit, don't worry about me."

So Paige is a champ at rolling over onto her stomach now. Not so much getting back over to her back yet. Clearly the bars on her crib are a little too far apart for her appendages. Seems like an uncomfortable position to sleep in to me, but she didn't seem to mind too much. Thinking it is probably time to put the bumper in her crib.

Also, I will be trying to catch up with the posts, but I think I may post about two per day until I am caught up because Valerie and Paige are going to Wisconsin for a few days in a little over a week. No reason to have another long hiatus if i can prevent it.

Day 204 - It Begins

"Let me do it, Mommy."

Spent some time outside this evening. Paige wants to try and stand more often these days, and can even stay on her feet when leaning up against you. I am thinking standing on her own is still a ways off, but it gives you a vision of the future (and all of the things in the house that will need to change).

Day 203 - The Budding Sceptic

"Again, I'm not so sure about that."

Just waiting for the day that she tells me I'm wrong. Hopefully that is a ways off. heh.

programming update

I am going to be in denver from today through friday so I won't be able to update the blog until next weekend. I wanted to post a few more before I left but ran out of time. Lots of updates next week.

Day 202 - Grabbing < Petting

"Kaija, I think it's time we had a little talk. I'll make you an offer you can't refuse."

At some point, you just stop putting clothes on your baby, all a new outfit would mean is another thing to launder. Paige is still trying very hard to pet Kaija. It pretty much always ends up being more of a fistfull of hair and a nose dive by Paige into Kaija, but Rome wasn't built in a day as they say.

Day 201 - Can you Tweet too?

"Get with the times Dad, Twitter was over before I was even BORN."

Yeah, this photo got me to sign up for Twitter finally. Not sure what the point is, but I figure I'll give it a try. @sylvesterii. (and her shirt does say "Can you Tweet too?" I don't think it means twitter, but you never know.)

Day 200 - Lightning Visiting

"Nope, Grandpa, I think I just want to cry, that silly rattle is not gonna trick me."

We had a quick overnight visit with Grandpa Roger. Paige was a little fussy still (Tooth Watch '09 continues...) but we still had a very nice visit. The next day while I was slaving away in a court hearing that accomplished nothing, Paige, Grandpa Roger and Valerie all got to spend the beautiful morning at Como Zoo. I'm not bitter or anything...
